Awesome Autumn in Jesmond Dene with Peter Cronin

Waterfall

The iconic photograph of Jesmond Dene is the Waterfall beside the Old Mill . Who would go to to there and miss out the man made park.

Of course this might not be your favourite view. All the photos have names so that you can let me know which your’s is.

There is something special about the Dene in autumn. I remember a few years ago when the Dene was crowded with people escaping from the lockdown. I prefer having it back, one of my special places returned to me.

Armstrong Bridge

This is the place where the arts and crafts markets take place. It looks quite different when the traders have gone home.

Armstrong Bridge from the Dene.

You can see the scale of the bridge from down here. The North East is well known for it’s engineering skills.

Flowing water.

Such a peaceful place at this time of the year. Somewhere that you can really chill.

Little Bridge.

You might wonder what this bridge is doing here? It is actually the way to the Banqueting Hall.

Banqueting Hall.

I wonder if this place will ever be put back in use?

Pavillion.

Often crowded in the summer. There are a lot of tyneside flats near here so people escape to get outside.

Bridge over the water.

Amazing to see this in the heart of a busy city.

Storm Damage

I think that they just gave up when this happened and decided to just make things safe.

If you like this post you might like the one that I did last year. The dene changes with each season and year by year and is always a great place to visit.
