Peter Cronin says ” ZUMBA® is fun , fun ,fun. This is my journey , are you ready to join the party “?

I think that you should always be looking to make the best version of yourself and you have to try new things and push yourself at times and this is the story of one of my recent adventures.

So it seemed perfectly normal for me to book on a ZUMBA® instructors course and I was not disappointed. The most sensible place for me seemed to be the one in Leigh in Edinburgh and the course is held on a Sunday. This looked good for travelling and initially I thought about an overnight stay due to the 120 mile journey , but this didn’t really work so I had to do everything in one day and due to other commitments I had to book the one in five days time or I would have to wait another month for the next one.

So off to Scotland to meet the awesome Sandra Harnes who was taking the course.

It wasn’t the first time that I had done a class and I had been due to do one at my local gym , but obviously I didn’t tell anyone. That was something for later!

So back to the day. Having got up at 5am, and anyone that knows me will wonder how this happened, I arrived at the venue. Most of the others were standing outside the gym and it was pretty obvious that these were my type of people , dressed appropriately and water bottles were there as a necessity not a fashion statement. Eight of us here to learn and I haven’t been in a group of people that got on so well. Each of us with different experiences in life and goals, but today all of us with the same aim in mind.

Sandra let us into the gym which was a little bit different to what I am used to. We started with a class which was brilliant . The whole day was amazing but I do have to tell you all that Sandra bought cakes for everyone at lunch time. I can guarantee that most of my friends would have made the trip just for the cakes , buying cakes is clearly one of her super powers.

Did I mention cake?

So apart from being a great day the course does equip you to learn how to teach your own class and the support from the company is amazing. If you are wondering if you should try a ZUMBA® class I would say “definitely do it”. The physical and mental benefits are massive and you will find a very welcoming community. Most classes are in the community and you just pay typically £5 for a class with no commitment. The instructor will ensure that if this is your first class or are a regular , you will have a great time.

The classes have also become incredibly popular in many gyms and one of the classes that I go to is fully booked within about ten minutes.

All my instructors have been massively supportive of me and I am very grateful of that. I was taking to the manager at my gym and she said that the ZUMBA® group are a community within the club community and she is correct.

It is a group of people that will welcome you, so if you are thinking about it , you should definitely give it a go.

This is something that is for everyone. Everyone is welcome and will have a great time.

The ZUMBA®wear is not compulsory but it is great fun if you want to get involved. I suppose that your freinds won’t have any problems in getting presents for you.

So that is the start of my journey . It doesn’t matter which way it goes as long as I enjoy the journey. So if you want to try a class , do it. If you want to do the course , do it . If you want to teach, do it . Just do what works for you and just be the best version of yourself that you can be.
