Brexit , Covid , Boris , the gifts that keep on giving presented by Peter Cronin

Can you believe that we left the eu over two years ago and we still haven’t sorted out the import-export thing , still unable to fill essential jobs and shortages of the most unexpected things. We do still buy gas from the Soviet bloc and energy costs are increasing by 50-100% , who would have thought?

You might have thought that the covid thing would have taken the heat off the brexit thing , well it did try it’s best . Shortly to have pretty much all the restrictions removed in England but not necessarily in the rest of the uk so you may manage to commit an offence by crossing the border if you have tested positive for the virus. Time for the country to get back to normal and for the vulnerable to stay at home.

While Boris deals with the people responsible for the problems we are facing by sacking the culprits , the supply will run out soon . No one would have expected the person responsible for taking police action over “partygate” to resign in the nick of time.

Big organisations , still wfh , so basic service requests take a minimum of a week and have you ever been told that there is a long phone queue because of covid ? Really ? I think after two years they should have sorted that one out.

City centres have changed dramatically with the acceleration of the digital age going supersonic. Strangely you now get your shopping delivered directly to your dustbin in many cases, why not cut out the middleman?

All of this as a sideline to Biden squaring up to other countries , so you thought life was going to get simpler? Doesn’t look like it anytime soon.
