Jesmond Dene deserted , Peter Cronin in the Jewel in the Crown of Newcastle Upon Tyne

The last time that I went to Jesmond Dene I decided that it was a bit too busy for my liking. I could understand why people with accents that were definitely not from the area were filling it and definitely not understanding the need for social distancing even if they were outside. Now it is a very different story and a great place to be.

Armstrong Bridge at the other end of the dene famous for local artists selling their wares.

Someone has a sense of humour up here. Not many people will be wanting access to the Fisherman’s lodge.

The Geordie sense of humour again?

The entrance to the world famous Fisherman’s Lodge.

The Fisherman’s Lodge has definitely seen better days.

Amazing what you can find so close to a city centre.

No crowds today.

A rare view of the Mill.

Castles Farm Road Bridge.
