Peter Cronin returns to the secret that is the Rising Sun Nature Reserve

Wherever you live there is probably somewhere very close to you that you overlook because it is so near at hand. You probably don’t need to go on a long trip to find somewhere peaceful and one of these places for the people of Newcastle Upon Tyne is the Rising Sun Nature Reserve and not only is the place free , so is the parking !

This bit was a bit clarty when I went but most of it was a lot better to walk on. After the last few days of rain it probably is probably a good idea to wear some decent boots.

You can’t escape the bollards anywhere now.

The sun just looked amazing.

So peaceful

The beauty of nature

Looks colder than it was

I suppose the notice must be necessary or it would not be there.

Just five and a half miles from the centre of the city you find this.

From the top of the hill.

Love the sun.

Fields so close to the city.

Please let me know your favourites in the comments section and if there is anywhere that you would like me to do a post on that would be helpful too.

It is a beautiful space. However the housing estates are closing in around it . Every time I walk anywhere I see more houses
