So you think that there has not been too much news to comment on about recently ? Well maybe there is and a lot of it is interconnected. The problem that I have is that I don’t know where to start.
The most important story might be King Putin invading Ukraine. Just as important is Zelenskyy stepping up to the mark to defend his nation. Strangely this to some extent is overshadowed by other news.
Of course , the english politicians are known by their first names over here. So do we start with Boris or Rishi?
Well , does it really matter? Billionaire household Rishi manages to put up taxation while his wife announces to the world that she is non dom. Even more strangely after a series of statements she allegedly decides that she will not claim non dom status for income tax but will for inheritance tax and the press were not slow to pick up on that. Meanwhile , Rishi borrows a car to fill up with petrol to highlight the fuel duty cut which was less than the government take in VAT on fuel. Strangely the press spotted that as well. The person on the red bus in London might be thinking as energy prices go up by about 50% the man at number 11 , has no clue how ordinary people get through life.
Ah Boris, and actually Rishi as well on this one. Partygate , the party that never happened . Well that is not what the police think and strangely the fines have been paid.
Have you forgotten about covid19? Well actually no, with daily deaths averaging about 400 a day , not much on the news about that. I would say that at one stage they would be introducing another lockdown. Admittedly , due to the vaccines and the mutations , generally people are just having a very unpleasant experience if they get a bad case rather than hospitalisation that happened at the start.
Who is “Evil Meena” say those of you from outside the UK. Lots of people have been watching Emmerdale and the character is a glorious character in the soap played by the excellent Paige Sandhu.
Fact stranger than fiction or the other way around. I am not too sure to be honest.
