Newcastle Hoppings , all the fun of the fair.

Originally a Temperance festival going all the way back to 1882, with two years off it is all back bigger and better. When people say the word “Hoppings” the first two things that I think of are “hay fever” and “rain” . Maybe now I will also be thinking of a great fun fair with something for everyone.

Big rides to traditional stalls there is something for everyone here. The Big Wheel is really big , not for the faint hearted but if you want a great view of the city this is the place to be.

Or do you want really big? This one is not for me but just the ticket for many of the locals or tourists that are in town at this time of the year. It is a city but locally known as the toon.

Just massive.

It is not just big stuff , there are all the traditional things that you would expect to see at a fun fair and the smaller rides that the younger ones will like are a little bit cheaper than the monster ones.

Good to see the no lose option, check if the prizes are to your taste before buying.

Low key security at the entrance seems to be working well.

Even when it is quiet the traffic is there but there is parking available on the town moor.
