Peter Cronin asks the question “do you have to pay someone to get Peter Cronin a listing on google ? “.
I regularly get emails from people who want to get paid to promote my website and I wonder if they are really worth the money that they want to charge. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the benefits of good marketing but when you get thousands of emails a year asking you to use them for your marketing it makes you question how good they are. The point is that if a company is clearly spamming you , you have to question the point of paying them to do work for you. It is clear from the type of emails that you get that they have taken absolutely no research on you before trying to get you to spend your hard earned cash on them. It is a bit like real world situations. Would you get someone to do work on your roof that has just rung your doorbell and said that they can clean your gutters for £250 and then maybe say that while on the roof they have found a lot more work that you should be paying them for . To be honest I would expect a good builder to spot serious problems with your roof from the roadside . Like all things in life , some people are good at their jobs and some are not.
If you want work doing , I would generally ignore people who have sent you an email. Ask your freinds if they can recommend someone and have a look at their work. Have a look at their qualifications and how established they are. If someone produces a report on your website and they point out deficiencies that don’t actually exist , use your common sense and run a mile. In most things in life , use your common sense and judgement and if something does not feel right , follow you instincts and go for someone else.
