England fans are very disappointed but the players did us proud. Tuchel has progressed England from the quarter final to the semi final but ultimately beaten by a very good team from Argentina. There are lots of positives to take from the campaign but the team never showed their true potential on this occasion.
The massive positive was Jude Bellingham who was awesome and is destined to take over from Harry Kane as captain when the time comes. Harry Kane did not put a foot wrong and his leadership qualities are obvious to anyone. I was also impressed by Anthony Gordon, Declan Rice and Jordon Pickford.
Other players were excellent at times but there was a general lack of consistency and the defence has room for improvement. To be honest England never really got out of the blocks. Tuchel needs to be given a chance as it is still early days for him. Some brave decisions which at times looked like schoolboy errors but managers are judged by results and if some of those decisions had paid off he would be a hero.
So , disappointment , but lots of potential and the players have the talent , so , bring on the Euros. Maybe England will show us what they can do then.
