Situated about a mile from the centre of Newcastle is Jesmond Old Cemetery , All Saints is across the road and there are some other interesting ones in the City but this one has it all.
This really is a grand entrance.
The view towards town , you will notice the lack of headstones on such an important part of the park.
Looking the other way things start to look a little more clear. The plans to dual the coast road would have been disastrous for the cemetery . As it stands the proportions are ideal and fortunately the plans did not go ahead even though they were well on their way.
Some of the resting places are definitely from a different age and some must have cost a fortune.
A one way system has been adopted and this is the way out to Sandyford.
