Liz Truss, probably the most unpopular person in the uk at the moment.

It was the moment that we all have been waiting for , nobody seriously thought that she would carry on until the end of the term. Political Journalists incredulous at her. A lot of anger among those who will see their mortgage payments double. People who rent ,worried about how much the rent will go up.

The shortest term for a PM , the amazing press conference after appointing a new Chancellor. The city had not needed the data to work out that the not mini budget did not balance. Clearly a Chancellor that reverses all the policies of the PM makes her position untenable.

So where do we go from here? Penny Mordaunt looks strong but is untested. Boris Johnson does not seem to realise that if there is a line that you do not cross, you do not cross it. Rishi Sunak called Liz Truss out during the hustings and told her what would happen with her policies and he was right. Probably too serious a situation for anyone else to handle , so I guess we might have the successor as early as monday.

No chance of an election being held when the opinion polls show that the Conservatives might struggle to get 100 seats so things can only get better by toughing it out. Whoever does get the job , there are certainly going to be tough decisions and difficult times. Michael Gove astutely is waiting for this to all die down before making his move.

Yes, the current state of the world meant that we were all in for a rough few years but sometimes it is not what your do but how you do it that is the important thing. Let us all hope that we get some strong leadership and things calm down.
