Senegal showed in the first half that they are a good side but you could see the confidence drain from the side when Jordan Henderson scored quickly followed but Harry Kane. The second half was much brighter with a great goal from Bukayo Saka. The star of the team was Jude Bellingham , as usual !
In Gareth Southgate we have a manager who can make the big decisions and probably the small ones as well. Pretty clear that the team have respect for him . Not many would have left Marcus Rashford out of the starting line up but Gareth seems to know how to chose the right players for the team that they are against.
So bring on France , current holders . England should have no fear , not even of Kylian Mbappe. That is not to say that it will be an easy game. France will be the toughest opposition by far , so far. England will have to defend well , but the strength of the team is not the individual players , it is the way that they play as a team and going forward they are a delight.
