Women’s Football World Cup 2023, England’s women outdance Australia , bring on the Spanish , in Sarina we trust.

Following a very professional performance against a solid Colombian team England have gone on to do a job on Australia. Home advantage and arguably being the favourites was not enough against a determined England side. That is not saying that Australia were bad , because they are in the top four for a reason. Sam Kerr scored a goal worthy of the competition but that was not enough against a team that will not accept defeat. A great goal from Ella Toone started it all but that was not the end of it . Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo seem to have a habit of scoring together in games and let us hope that this continues. It is a team game but I would be surprised if Lauren James is not on the pitch at some time. I would go along with the pundits and put the team on that ended this game to start against Spain. Well actually I would not. I would go along with whatever Sarina Wiegmar decides. I believe that the players would also go along with that as well. There is a plan and the women carry it out. There is something about following a winning plan to inspire confidence for the future. They know that the job is not done yet but they will do their jobs between now and the final whistle on Sunday.

If you are reading this from Spain you will probably be concerned , and you should be. This is a special team that intends to finish the job and England is excited.
