So we are still in Euro 2024 and to be honest I have heard very little other than negativity about the England Side, and pretty much nothing positive about Gareth Southgate.
So what is it about the English? Do you know what you want? Do you want to do well in competitions and even have a chance of winning or do you want to see exciting football that lasts for one match only and leads to losing?
So , we ended up top of our group and won the selection of sides that we wanted in the knock out stages. So we got though to the last 16 and beat Slovakia. Quarter finals and we faced Switzerland , another good team . But it is about the whole match that gets the win and England proved that with the penalty shoot out. Normally not very good to watch because of the tension. Not so this time.
Pickford , so much confidence , defeats Akanji and then the super cool Palmer, Bellingham , Saka , Toney and Alexander-Arnold all stood up and each of them looked as if the goal was absolutely nailed on as they took their shots.
Well done Southgate and the team , it is time to believe , and a semi final place is a pretty good achievement in itself. Come on England !
